WhyInsurance.me is a consumer-first marketplace for understanding insurance and connecting with licensed agencies. We publish educational content, host an agency directory, route quote requests, and facilitate communication and applications between consumers and agencies.

We are not an insurance agency, broker, or carrier. We do not underwrite policies, issue coverage, or pay claims. Coverage decisions, pricing, and binding are the responsibility of the licensed agency you choose to work with.

Educational content is not advice

Articles, FAQs, glossary entries, and claims-workflow guides on this site are general consumer education. They are not legal, financial, or insurance advice and do not establish a professional relationship. Coverage availability, pricing, and legal requirements vary by state and by individual circumstance — always confirm specifics with a licensed agent or your state department of insurance before making a coverage decision.

Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Use a strong, unique password. Enable two-factor authentication.
• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• Don't share your account, impersonate other people, or use false information when requesting quotes or starting an application.

Acceptable use

• Don't harass, threaten, or send spam through the messaging system.
• Don't solicit business off-platform when you're using the platform as an agency. Off-platform solicitation is grounds for suspension and disrupts the consumer-protection model.
• Don't upload malware, illegal content, or material you don't have the right to share.
• Don't scrape or programmatically harvest data from the public directory or learn pages beyond fair, occasional use.

Agency listings

Agencies submit their own profile information and license documentation. Our admin team reviews submissions before agencies become discoverable. We display licenses only after admin verification. We do not guarantee any agency's pricing, responsiveness, or claim outcomes — those are between you and the agency.

Commissions

Agencies pay WhyInsurance.me a commission on policies sold through the platform. The commission rate each agency offers is reviewed and approved by our admin team before going live. Commissions are paid by the agency, not by you — see our commission disclosure for the full structure.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Profile. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms (notably the off-platform solicitation, abuse, and false-information rules), or where required by law. Past audit records are retained as required for compliance, dispute resolution, and tax purposes even after account deletion.

Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is." We don't warrant that the information here is complete, accurate at any moment in time, or applicable to your specific situation. To the extent permitted by law, we limit liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page and dated above. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
