How WhyInsurance.me makes money
Who pays us, what they get, and what money can never buy here.
Short version
WhyInsurance.me does not receive commissions or any other payment tied to the sale of an insurance policy. We are not an insurance agency and we don’t sell insurance. Reading our guides, using our tools, and contacting agencies is free.
Where our money can come from
- Advertising: ad placements on our pages, always labeled “Sponsored.”
- Sponsorships: a company can sponsor a guide or be shown as a “Featured” company. The label stays on the page for as long as the sponsorship runs.
- Agency listings: licensed agencies may pay a flat fee for an enhanced profile or a labeled “Spotlight” placement. The fee doesn’t depend on whether you buy anything.
What money can’t buy
- Editorial content. Advertisers and sponsors can’t write, edit, review, or approve our articles, guides, or tools.
- Organic ordering. Directory results are ordered by your search and filters. Paid placements are shown separately and labeled.
- Facts about companies. Complaint data, licensing information, and other factual details aren’t changed for anyone who pays us.
- Your information. We don’t sell your personal information. When you contact an agency, we share only what’s needed with the agency you choose.
How to tell what’s paid
Anything paid for is labeled “Sponsored,” “Featured,” or “Spotlight” where it appears. If you see something that looks paid but isn’t labeled, please tell us.
