This is the least coverage the law requires. It often isn’t enough to pay for a serious accident, and anything above your limits can come out of your own pocket.

Most drivers are not required to carry insurance, but you are liable for damages. If you buy a policy, or the DMV orders an SR-22, it must meet 25/50/25 and include UM.
